The concert is part of a symposium about Maarten Maartens (pseudonym of Jozua van der Poorten Schwartz (Amsterdam, August 15th, 1858 – Doorn, August 3rd, 1915) at the occasion of his centennial year. My piece was commissioned for this occasion by the Maarten Maartens Foundation.
