Stichting René Samson
Composer René Samson died suddenly on July 5th, 2019. He left behind an extensive body of musical work. Friends and family are working to ensure that his work is- and will be available to current and future generations.
On March 6th, 2020, the René Samson Foundation was founded. The first inititiave is to make René's music digitally available. The paper archive has since been donated to NMI (Dutch Musical Institute). His work is available to everyone via Donemus (publisher Dutch music) Some of his work his already been published by Donemus and made available to order.
Through a periodic newsletter, the Foundation will announce its activities. The aim is to organize a yearly concert, "Samsoniade", where René's music will be performed.
In addition, the foundation seeks to encourage and support musicians to study and perform the work of René Samson. The foundation will fund its efforts through donations.Governance
